KEYWORDS - THE CHARIOT

Action. Fast or Accelerated Movement. Moving Forward with peace and Love. Being Swept up by Events. Things Taking on a Life of their Own. Determination. Overcoming Obstacles.

The Chariot

The Chariot symbolizes movement, particularly forward movement, or progress. It suggests that you are headed somewhere, whether it be on a physical journey, a change in residence or occupation, or an upward trajectory in life. This implies that where there has been stagnation or inactivity, there is now an opportunity for things to start moving and progressing. In the card, the feline sits in the driver's seat while the kitty charioteers pull her chariot; however, she lacks reins and control over them. This indicates that at times things may be happening so quickly that we are merely going along for the ride. This can be due to external forces pushing us forward, our own competitive nature, or an inner drive to make things happen beyond our control. Similar to the Lovers card, the black and white kitty charioteer represents the duality of life, the yin and the yang. They point in opposite directions but find balance through the will of the charioteer. The Chariot does not suggest that you have consciously decided to take action; rather, it signifies that action itself has deemed it necessary.

The Chariot Reversed

Reversed or with challenging cards around the Chariot, this could have several implications. On the one hand, it could feel that things are going too fast and you have little control. On the other hand, it could indicate that things aren’t moving and as a reverse card can often mean the literal opposite, that things are stuck or stalled.

The Cat Folk Tarot is a 78 Card Deck based on the Rider Waite Smith System and created by Libra Moon Inc.
